RIVA: changing the conditions for preventing violence against women and girls

An independent reform project focuses on the infrastructure, investment, and learning needed for a more effective response to violence against women and girls.

· The PSTA

RIVA is an independent, cross-sector reform project working on the response to violence against women and girls. Its premise is that structural weaknesses can prevent good services and ideas from reducing harm.

Its work covers three areas: infrastructure that supports accountability and coordination; investment that strengthens prevention and lasting capacity; and local and regional innovation through testing, adaptation, and learning.

For public-service commissioners, this opens questions about the conditions surrounding funded services. Do investment decisions support prevention over time? Who connects organisations and helps them learn together? Can local experience alter how the wider system works?

RIVA is registered as VAWG Systems Lab CIC. Its website provides a route to follow the work and connect with the project.
